We were asked to watch three music videos and get 6 conventions that occurs in the music video and is also very popular used in most music videos. Normally i would use YouTube to watch my music videos but this time we were told to watch the actual music videos from an official site called Vevo. After I watched the music videos, I made note on a paper of the conventions that are used in each music video.
Here is the picture of the note i took while watching the music videos and to my understanding most of the videos have something in common which is "partying and dancing".
The six main convention is spotted in the music videos are:
1. The use of slow motion, this is used in the music video when the song isn't fast paced.
2. The lighting matches the mood of the song.
3. The cuts are on the same pace as the tone of the song.
4. Med shot is mostly used in the music videos.
5. There is Lip synching used to match the actual music video.
Most of the music videos ended up having a love story at the end.
